My Guitar is a unique program that offers an exciting way for kids aged 5 and up to learn how to play acoustic guitar. The program features multimedia lessons that guide children with full-motion video demonstrations, and creatively uses interactive games to teach chords. The animated Gary the Guitar leads kids through over 60 lessons by Kevin Garry, Ph.D. My Guitar - covering the basics, such as holding and tuning the guitar, and moves on to playing chords, songs and reading tablature notation.

An animated fretboard shows kids where to put their fingers as the live recorded audio plays. With MIDI tracks the speed of the music can be adjusted so each child can learn at his or her own pace. Handy tools such as an automatic tuner, metronome, chord dictionary and digital recorder are all included.

Full-motion videos - Lessons are easy to follow with our large-format videos, featuring split-screens and close-ups that guide kids through songs and playing techniques.

The Fun Way to Learn – An animated character named Gary the Guitar guides children through lessons by a professional instructor.

Interactive Games - Games help children learn chords and songs by reviewing what they learned in the lessons. By interacting with the playful characters and scenes, kids will have fun while learning music!

Recorder - The digital recorder allows kids to play into the computer’s built-in microphone (or an external one), record their performance, and save it to the computer.

Chord Dictionary - The chord dictionary is an extremely helpful tool, displaying over 250 chord charts! Simply click on a chord and your child will hear what it sounds like and see the right fingerings.

Automatic Tuner - Using either the computer’s built-in microphone or an external one, your child can get tuned up quickly and easily with the built-in interactive tuner. They can just line up the arrow with the right string and be in tune!

Digital Metronome: Kids can keep a steady beat with audio and/or visual feedback.

Digital Recorder: Allows kids to record and play themselves back for friends and family to hear!

Music tracking highlights notes or chords as they are played. Play along with the accompaniment and adjust the speed.

Song looping lets you highlight and repeat parts.
